چکیده
Abstract Flowers are ubiquitous in primate environments, yet their nutritional advantages underexamined. Symphonia globulifera is a widely distributed tree exploited by variety of animals Africa and the Americas. We collected S. flower samples consumed red-tailed monkeys ( Cercopithecus ascanius ) compared them nutritionally to from other plant species Kibale National Park, Uganda. were assayed for three fiber fractions (NDF, ADF, lignin), fat, crude protein, acid detergent insoluble nitrogen (ADIN), ash, soluble sugars. estimated available total nonstructural carbohydrates (TNC), metabolizable energy (ME). calculated mean standard deviation all nutrient categories applied geometry illustrate balance among energetic gains fiber, TNC across species. Our results suggest that flowers provide an unusually high fat resource (14.82% ± 1.41%) relative (1.38% 5.79%) foods same habitat.

متن کاملAttribute Predictions for Flowers
In this work, we apply and advance deep learning methods for computer vision in the context of a challenging flower dataset. Flower species are often differentiated only by very subtle indicators. However, images of a single species may still vary hugely in pose and scale, each image revealing only a subset of relevant distinguishing attributes. Experts or hobbyists will often use botanical key...
متن کاملFlowers for Synaptic Endocytosis
Exocytosis and endocytosis of synaptic vesicles are tightly coordinated to maintain a steady supply of new vesicles during periods of extended neuronal stimulation. Yao et al. (2009) now report that a synaptic vesicle membrane protein named Flower promotes endocytosis at neuromuscular junctions in the fruit fly Drosophila.

In this Quick Guide, Johnson introduces the reader to carrion flowers, which evolved to mimic rotting flesh. This adaptation attracts insects that facilitate pollination.
متن کاملCan red flowers be conspicuous to bees? Bombus dahlbomii and South American temperate forest flowers as a case in point.
It has been argued that trichromatic bees with photoreceptor spectral sensitivity peaks in the ultraviolet (UV), blue and green areas of the spectrum are blind to long wavelengths (red to humans). South American temperate forests (SATF) contain a large number of human red-looking flowers that are reported to be visited by the bumblebee Bombus dahlbomii. In the present study, B. dahlbomii's spec...
